The futurists project is an exploratory project, driven by encounters with creators and researchers of futures throughout Europe.
In today's world, discussions about futures are everywhere. Designers, researchers, big companies, citizens, and politicians are all engaged in developing practices related to envisioning the future.
In a time when contemplating the future may not seem like the most exciting task, I wanted to reconnect with those who are actively thinking and creating about it.
My goal is to gain a better understanding of the current practices and trends in this field.
The objectives of this project are:
- Mapping and clarifying the work being done in the field of futures, including who is involved, what they are working on, where they are located, and how they approach their work.
- Exploring the concepts and ideas that surround futures thinking.
On a broader scale, I aim to generate insights, ignite discussions, and contribute to the exploration of futures thinking and methodologies.
I hope with this project to produce tangible outputs, including a map of experts and methodologies, articles, interviews, portraits, and presentations in different cities. And all of those will be shared to expand our common knowledge.
I may not be able to reach Mars, but I can certainly make it to you!
Why I am doing this project now?
Because I love people and I want to know more about them!
I love humans, and it drives my desire to learn more about ethnographic practices. My aim is to go out into the world and meet people, discover their believes, habits and cultures. But, I also want to know more about the futures thinkings practices that are being developed all around us. To engage with experts, their methodologies and their actual thinking about futures.
I do believe that positive futures are possible, and that the solutions are all around us. Just just need to change perspectives and ask the right questions.
